Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Mechanic Assistant and play a vital role in supporting the cleaning of the garage, parts runner, maintenance, repair, and servicing of a wide range of heavy equipment, and cleaning of units. This energetic position offers the opportunity to develop hands-on skills in mechanical systems, diagnostics, and equipment operation while working alongside experienced heavy equipment mechanics. Duties Assist experienced mechanics with repairs diesel trucks Cleaning of garage (sweeping, empty trash, etc.) Parts Runner Support the inspection, diagnosis, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems such as transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, and electrical components Prepare tools and equipment for maintenance tasks using power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and soldering irons Help with the assembly and disassembly of vehicle parts and industrial equipment using schematics and technical manuals Perform routine maintenance tasks such as tire service, fluid checks, lubrication, and brake repairs on various vehicles including trucks and farm machinery Operate heavy equipment like forklifts Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols related to heavy lifting Qualifications Prior experience working in a dealership or automotive repair setting is highly preferred Basic mechanical knowledge including diesel knowledge Ability to use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, tire changers Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and working in various environmental conditions Knowledge of diesel mechanics Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude toward teamwork and learning new skills Join us to be part of a vibrant team dedicated to excellence in vehicle maintenance and heavy equipment repair!
