Ohio Mini Excavator, a veteran-owned, BBB Certified "A+" rated, start-up here at our current location in Hartville is looking to hire a Lead Excavator & Skid Steer Master Technician for our brand new, state of the art Dealership. We will be moving to Canton South this Summer as soon as our building is finished. Pay based on experience. This is a early start up that is growing exponentially.

A successful candidate should:

Be enthusiastic and able familiar with all sections of an operable earthmoving/heavy equipment service including hydraulic systems, small gas/diesel engines, and diagnostics. This position will require heavy diagnostics, with no help

• we are relying on you to be able to figure it out on your own! You will lead a small team of technicians with a wide range of skill sets. You will be among the first to represent the brand throughout the country! We are looking for a current or former technician at a heavy equipment dealership or repair center, or a current or former auto mechanic. Experience here is everything.
• Must over-communicate. Not only with your Team, but with inventory managers, and sales teams. Transparency.
• Must be ' humble, approachable, & credible
• You will often work on your own to make repairs and ensure customer satisfaction. Teams respond well to a well versed yet polite lead. Your Team may not be as experienced as you, but your are expected to teach (time permitting.)
• Have own transportation and a current Driver's License. Towing knowledge (bumper pull) and loading procedures/tie down is a must.
• Be comfortable working alone and unsupervised
• MUST be self-motivated and honest.
• Be generally knowledgable or able to quickly learn single cylinder, V-Twin, gas engines. Many of our 'minis' are very simple and are equipped with such. We are talking the easiest Predator, Briggs, & Honda motors
• nothing crazy. Other 'minis' have small diesel motors
• we only offer Kubota, Perkins, & Yanmar diesels which have a very wide range of parts availability.
• Expertise in hydraulic systems
• from small single port pumps & cylinders, to computer controlled pilot control systems with piston pumps.

• Ability to learn, adapt and apply knowledge to current and future inventory
• This position is for a Master Technician with ample experience working in Heavy Equipment.

The emphasis is on hydraulic system diagnosis and repair. This is a hands-on job in a heated, indoor space, but also includes outdoor inventory retrieval (rain or shine), repair & diagnosis over Video Call, deliveries, pickups, and trailering. Occasional field service may be required, although we strive to ensure we do not send a Team member until all other avenues are exhausted. In 2025, we had a total of four Field Calls. We are looking for an honest person who puts integrity first and will treat our team as if they are family. In our new building, you will have your own bay.
