Tier 1 Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Aerial Lifts)

Cleveland OH | Full-Time | $20-$25/hour About the Role OHR Rents is looking for a Tier 1 Heavy Equipment Mechanic to support our service team with routine maintenance, inspections, and basic repairs on our rental fleet and customer equipment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their equipment-mechanic career who wants to grow their technical skills with ongoing training, mentorship, and hands-on experience. Key Responsibilities Perform basic maintenance and repairs on aerial lifts, telehandlers, and general construction equipment Complete Preventive Maintenance (PM) services and assist with Annual Inspections Support senior mechanics with troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems Conduct routine safety checks and equipment inspections Maintain clean and accurate service records Help keep the shop clean, organized, and safe Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and manufacturer guidelines Communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, and sales staff Job Requirements 6 months-1 year of mechanical experience preferred (automotive, diesel, equipment, or related field) Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems Experience with boom lifts, scissor lifts, or telehandlers is a plus, but training is provided Strong desire to learn and grow within the equipment service trade Good communication and customer service skills Valid Driver's License required Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and work on your feet for extended periods Frequent use of hands, arms, and tools for repairs and maintenance tasks Ability to climb on and off equipment safely Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and reach in various positions Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 75 lbs Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Clear vision to perform inspections, paperwork, and equipment operation Ability to work safely around moving machinery and in an active shop environment About OHR Rents OHR Rents specializes in the rental, sale, and service of general construction equipment, aerial work platforms, and telehandlers.
