The Mechanic will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing company vehicles, equipment, and machinery. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish with employees, supervisors, and other team members. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues. Inspect equipment to identify potential safety or mechanical problems. Perform repairs and replace worn or damaged parts as needed. Troubleshoot equipment and determine the appropriate repairs. Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, maintenance, and parts used. Communicate equipment issues and repair needs to supervisors and management. Assist employees with basic equipment-related questions and explain mechanical issues or operating concerns. Communicate effectively in English and Spanish with employees and coworkers regarding equipment, repairs, safety, and maintenance. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA requirements. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Properly use and maintain tools, diagnostic equipment, and other shop equipment. Assist with emergency repairs and breakdowns as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience as a mechanic, equipment mechanic, diesel mechanic, automotive mechanic, or in a similar position. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and related equipment. Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical problems. Ability to safely operate and use mechanic tools and equipment. Bilingual in English and Spanish required. Ability to communicate effectively with employees and supervisors in both English and Spanish. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid driver's license required. CDL or additional mechanical certifications preferred, if applicable. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in various positions for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry heavy parts, tools, and equipment. Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments and in varying weather conditions. Ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Work Environment Work may be performed in a shop, garage, jobsite, or outdoor environment. Exposure to noise, dust, dirt, grease, oils, machinery, and varying weather conditions. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
