Job Description
Pay is based on experience, for the right person we can discuss higher pay than listed. Job Summary As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic at D-Kerns Construction, you will be responsible for the maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of a variety of construction equipment, including but not limited to dozers, excavators, loaders, graders, and dump trucks. Key Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance on heavy construction equipment. Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Inspect equipment for wear and damage to ensure safe operation. Keep detailed records of services and repairs performed. Operate diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot issues. Order and replace parts as necessary. Perform field repairs and emergency service calls when required. Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Minimum 2 years of experience working with heavy equipment (preferred). Technical training or certification in diesel/heavy equipment mechanics is a plus. Proficiency with tools and diagnostic equipment. Strong understanding of hydraulic systems, engines, and electronics. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid driver's license; CDL is a plus.
