Job Description Position Summary Madison Ranches, Inc. is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Repair & Diagnostic Technician with farm equipment experience to diagnose, maintain, repair, and rebuild agricultural, construction, harvest, trucking, and support equipment. This position requires strong troubleshooting abilities, practical field repair experience, and working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, drivetrain components, air conditioning, welding, and fabrication. The technician will help reduce downtime, support safe and efficient field operations, and maintain accurate service records. Essential Functions

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, driveline, fuel, cooling, and emissions-related issues using diagnostic software, test equipment, service manuals, and hands-on inspection.
• Troubleshoot and repair farm and heavy equipment, including tractors, harvest equipment, trucks, trailers, loaders, pickups, irrigation-related equipment, and shop support equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, adjustments, lubrication, fluid services, and seasonal service work to keep equipment operating safely and reliably.
• Repair, rebuild, and replace major components such as engines, transmissions, clutches, final drives, hydraulics, brakes, steering, electrical systems, HVAC systems, and other assemblies.
• Use computerized diagnostic tools, meters, gauges, scan tools, and laptop-based programs to identify faults and verify repairs.
• Perform welding, cutting, fabrication, and field repairs as needed to keep equipment operational.
• Test equipment after repairs, make needed adjustments, and confirm safe and proper operation before returning equipment to service.
• Maintain accurate service records, parts usage, inspection notes, and repair documentation.
• Communicate repair status, downtime concerns, parts needs, and safety issues with supervisors and operators.
• Assist, guide, or oversee supporting technicians when assigned and promote quality workmanship in the shop and field.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and follow all company safety procedures. Qualifications, Required Skills & Supplies
• Strong experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, drivetrains, brakes, HVAC, and related heavy equipment systems.
• Farm, ranch, harvest, or agricultural equipment experience is required; experience with tractors, combines, sprayers, loaders, trucks, and irrigation-related equipment is preferred.
• Ability to read and understand service manuals, wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics, diagnostic reports, and parts diagrams.
• Proficiency with diagnostic software, electrical meters, pressure gauges, hand tools, power tools, shop equipment, and specialty tools.
• Welding and fabrication skills, including repair of worn, cracked, or damaged components.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize repairs, solve problems, and perform well during time-sensitive farming and harvest operations.
• Must keep accurate written and digital maintenance records and communicate clearly with supervisors, operators, and team members.
• Must provide own basic hand tools; diagnostic and specialty tools may be required depending on experience and assignment.
• A valid driver's license and a good driving record are required.
• A self-motivated, dependable, and safety-focused individual who accepts responsibility and takes ownership of quality work. Working Conditions
• Work is performed in a shop, equipment yard, field, and outdoor farm environments.
• May work around moving equipment, dust, noise, grease, oils, fuel, chemicals, welding equipment, and changing weather conditions.
• Seasonal workloads may require extended hours, weekends, or on-call support during planting, harvest, irrigation, and other critical operations.

Pay:

$35.00 - $50.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 60.0 per week
