Three Rivers Marine & Rail Terminals, LLC has an opportunity for a full-time skilled Mechanic to assemble, maintain and repair machinery and vehicles. You will be responsible for ensuring functionality and reliability of machines, engines, conveyors, and mechanical systems. This role collaborates closely with the terminal manager.
Responsibilities include:
Carrying out all repairs to equipment directed by the Head Mechanic & Terminal Manager Performing duties safely and efficiently, reporting any unsafe situations or opportunities for improvement. Working on ladders, man lifts, tugboats, and barges. Maintain and clean maintenance shop, storage areas, entry/exit points and yard areas. Operate and perform maintenance on Skid steer, forklift, tugboat, excavators, vehicles, and commercial trucks. Work independently and as part of a team. Assist with building and assembling machines or mechanical components according to requirements. Inspect machines, engines, transmissions, etc., and run diagnostic tests to troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner. Keep logs of work and report on issues Ability to stick weld / torch cut Have manual dexterity and great attention to detail.
Physical Requirements and Skills:
Proven experience as Mechanic Work safely in an indoor / outdoor setting, which may include exposure to environmental conditions such as heat, rain, cold and/or humidity. Requires physical activity including walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, maneuvering heavy material and occasionally lifting and/or carrying up to 60 lbs. Ability to stand, walk, and move across large areas, including uneven terrain. Work in confined or restrictive working spaces. Ascend stairs or ladders to work atop tanks, metal walkways at heights Ability to reach with hands and arms and maneuver in confined spaces. Communicate and exchange information verbally and in writing.
