Are you good at fixing big machinery? Do you like working with your hands and solving practical problems? We are looking for a skilled Gear Mechanic to join our mining equipment team!
Responsibilities:
Fix and maintain gearboxes: Take apart, repair, and rebuild large gearboxes used on heavy mining equipment.
Troubleshoot problems:
Figure out why a gear or mechanical part is worn out, broken, or making noise.
Inspect parts:
Measure gears, bearings, and shafts to make sure they meet exact safety and size rules.
Use shop tools:
Work safely with hand tools, power tools, hydraulic presses, and overhead cranes.
Keep records:
Write simple notes about the repairs you finished and the parts you used
At least 2 years of experience fixing heavy machinery, industrial gearboxes, or large trucks.
Tool Knowledge:
You know how to use precision tools like calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.
Physical Strength:
Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or bend for most of your shift.
Safety First:
You follow all safety rules, wear your protective gear, and keep your workspace clean.
Education:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
