Responsible for repairing heavy equipment and fabricating/repairing infrastructure in a safe and appropriate manner. Heavy equipment may include front-end loaders, dozers, hydraulic excavators, off-road heavy hauler trucks and other pieces of equipment. Infrastructure may include belt structures, buildings, hoppers, etc.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Repair and maintain heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life. Repair and replace damaged or worn parts on equipment and infrastructure Inspect machines, or heavy equipment, and infrastructure to diagnose defects Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoist and hand tools Examine parts for damage or excessive wear Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints and technical drawings Participate in routine maintenance. Practice workplace safety Perform other related duties
MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
1. Welding and fabricating experience required. 2. Knowledge of maintenance of front-end loaders, hydraulic excavators, off-road heavy hauler trucks and other pieces of heavy equipment. 3. Knowledge of equipment maintenance and storage. 4. Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures. 5. Knowledge of equipment cleaning standards and procedures.
