Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Equipment and Heavy Truck Technician to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and construction equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will contribute to the smooth operation of construction sites, industrial facilities, and equipment fleets. Duties Perform comprehensive inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, bulldozers, loaders, forklifts, and other construction machinery. Conduct electrical diagnostics and automotive diagnostics to identify issues with electrical systems, wiring harnesses, sensors, and control modules. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to accurately diagnose mechanical and hydraulic problems. Carry out routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, brake repairs, transmission servicing, suspension adjustments, tire service, and HVAC system checks. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding and hand tools to ensure equipment functionality. Test repaired equipment through heavy lifting operations or simulated use to verify proper operation before returning it to service. Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and diagnostic reports to ensure compliance with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) standards and safety regulations. Skills Proven dealership experience or extensive background in heavy equipment mechanics with a focus on construction machinery maintenance. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, electrical systems, and HVAC systems. Skilled in using power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, soldering tools, and schematics for precise repairs. Experience with equipment troubleshooting across various brands including Caterpillar or similar OEMs. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining high standards of safety protocol adherence. Familiarity with heavy equipment operation is preferred to better understand operational issues during repairs. Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members. Pay:
$27.50 - $60.00 per hour
