Job Description
Overview Naples Excavating, LLC is seeking an on-site, field experienced heavy equipment mechanic who will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing heavy industrial and construction equipment used for commercial site work. The primary responsibility of this position is to maximize fleet uptime through preventative maintenance and repair while maintaining strict adherence to safety and environmental compliance protocols. Preventative Maintenance & Compliance Perform scheduled fluid flushes for engines, cooling, and hydraulics. Execute routine filter changes for fuel, air, and coolant systems. Conduct mandated safety inspections following standard fleet checklists. Log completed repair orders in digital asset management databases (Tenna) Test serviced assets to verify performance under load. Diagnostics & Troubleshooting Maintain relationships with Equipment Operators and determine best course of action to service and restore equipment to service. Interpret electronic fault codes using specialized Texa software. Isolate mechanical failures in engines, transmissions, and powertrains as well as physical damage to machines. Trace electrical short circuits and wire harness damages. Test hydraulic system pressures to isolate failing pumps or valves. Analyze diesel exhaust systems to diagnose failing emissions components. Off-Highway (OHW) Specific Systems Repair high-pressure hydraulic cylinders and multi-spool control valves. Service undercarriage systems including tracks, rollers, and tensioners. Rebuild heavy articulation joints and main loader bucket pins. Maintain hydrostatic drive systems found in earthmoving machinery. Weld cracked chassis frames and fabricate structurally reinforced brackets. The position will report to a service manager and work out of a service / lube truck maintaining a fleet of mostly CAT OHW equipment. Must have clean driving record. Work hours are 6:30AM- 3:30
