We are seeking an experienced and reliable Shop Mechanic to join our team at a commercial shipyard in Rhode Island. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of heavy machinery and shipyard equipment to keep our operations running smoothly and safely. Key Responsibilities Perform routine preventive maintenance and heavy repairs on shipyard equipment and machinery. Troubleshoot and fix mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues efficiently. Maintain accurate service and repair logs for all equipment. Ensure all equipment adheres to safety standards and operational readiness.

Qualifications & Requirements Hands-on Experience:

Proven experience maintaining and repairing equipment such as scissor lifts, boom lifts, pressure washers, and forklifts.

Technical Knowledge:

Strong, demonstrated understanding of hydraulics and electrical systems .

Preferred Language:

Bilingual (English/Spanish) is strongly preferred.

Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work independently in a fast-paced industrial environment, and a commitment to workplace safety.

Pay:

$26.96 - $32.47 per hour Expected hours: No more than 60.0 per week
