Annual performance-based bonus based on company results Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Mechanic to join our team in West Columbia, SC. This role is ideal for a mechanically inclined professional with extensive experience rebuilding and repairing heavy industrial equipment or large mechanical systems. The successful candidate will primarily focus on disassembling, inspecting, rebuilding, and reassembling mechanical units while following blueprints and technical schematics. Candidates with backgrounds in heavy equipment, diesel engines, big rigs, industrial machinery, or similar mechanical environments are highly encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Disassemble, inspect, repair, and rebuild heavy mechanical units and components. Diagnose mechanical failures, including bearing wear, component damage, and equipment malfunctions. Replace bearings, seals, shafts, and other mechanical components. Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and technical schematics. Use hand tools, pneumatic tools, torque wrenches, and precision measuring instruments. Perform quality inspections throughout the rebuild process. Communicate work progress and completed units to the supervisor. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. Support continuous improvement initiatives and follow all safety procedures. Required Qualifications 5-10 years of hands-on mechanical experience in an industrial, heavy equipment, diesel, automotive, or manufacturing environment. Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills. Experience tearing down and rebuilding mechanical assemblies. Ability to identify bearing wear, component failures, and perform replacements. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical schematics. Experience using hand tools, pneumatic tools, and precision measuring equipment. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and work in a physically demanding environment. Reliable work history demonstrating longevity and stability. Must be local to the West Columbia area or willing to commute. Preferred Qualifications Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Basic electrical troubleshooting of small electrical components. Experience working on heavy equipment, diesel trucks, big rigs, rail equipment, or similar machinery. Technical certifications or trade school training are a plus.
