Full Job Description Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Truck & Trailer Mechanic to join our team. As a Trailer Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing trailers to ensure they are in safe and working condition. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on trailers
- perform PM maintenance on road tractors & trailers
- Must complete DOT Inspections on trucks & trailers (preferred DOT inspection certification or willingness to train)
- Must have Transportation to and from work
- Must be able to keep inventory of all parts
- Must be able to write invoices and keep files on all equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical issues
- Replace or repair damaged parts, such as brakes, tires, lights, and wiring
- Conduct preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance
- Test and troubleshoot trailer systems to identify problems and provide effective solutions
- Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Trailer & Truck Mechanic or similar role
- Strong knowledge of truck & trailer systems, including air brakes, electrical wiring, and hydraulic systems
- Familiarity with industrial equipment repair and maintenance
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Strong customer service skills Preferred Skills (not required but a plus):
- Class A license (preferred but not required)
