Full-Time Equipment King LLC & KingBidz Auction House are seeking an experienced Lead Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic / Shop Manager to oversee our shop operations, equipment inspections, repairs, maintenance programs, and overall mechanical department. This is not an entry-level mechanic position. We are looking for a highly experienced individual with extensive knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, attachments, and heavy equipment diagnostics. Our operation includes an 18-acre yard and over 68,000 square feet of warehouse space filled with heavy equipment, attachments, trucks, trailers, auction inventory, and industrial equipment. We need someone who can take ownership of the mechanical department, maintain high standards, and help keep equipment moving through the sales process quickly and efficiently. You will have your own shop, service truck, tools, and workspace. While the service truck is primarily used around our facility and yard, you will be responsible for responding to equipment needs throughout the property and helping keep operations running efficiently.
Responsibilities:
Manage daily shop operations Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on heavy equipment Troubleshoot diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and drivetrains Inspect incoming equipment and provide detailed condition reports Perform pre-sale inspections and quality control inspections Work closely with the sales department to identify repair needs and equipment readiness Inspect machines before they are listed for sale Create repair recommendations and estimates Order parts and manage repair schedules Maintain repair records and inspection reports Coordinate shop workflow and repair priorities Pull engines, replace components, rebuild systems, and perform major repairs when necessary Diagnose and repair construction equipment, skid steers, excavators, dozers, wheel loaders, tractors, forklifts, and attachments Work on brands such as Caterpillar, Kubota, Bobcat, John Deere, Case, Takeuchi, Komatsu, Volvo, and other manufacturers Perform hydraulic troubleshooting and repairs Troubleshoot modern electronic systems and diagnostic software Assist with inventorying shop tools and parts Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient shop Help establish shop procedures and organization systems Work with mechanics, sales staff, yard personnel, and management Meet repair deadlines and productivity goals
Qualifications:
Extensive heavy equipment mechanic experience required Diesel engine experience required Hydraulic troubleshooting experience required Heavy equipment electrical diagnostics experience required Experience with construction equipment required Ability to perform major repairs including engine removal and replacement Ability to read diagnostic information and technical manuals Strong problem-solving skills Strong organizational skills Leadership and shop management experience preferred Ability to work independently and make decisions Valid driver's license required
Compensation & Opportunity:
This position offers a salary of $75,000 to $100,000+ per year depending on experience, performance, and qualifications.
