Mobile Construction Mechanic (CDL Required)

Starting at $29.00/ HR (Based on experience) H.L. Chapman Pipeline Construction is a leader in trenching for utilities, oil & gas pipeline construction, and mass rock excavation. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mobile Construction Mechanic to join our team. This position will be based in Austin, TX and requires travel to project sites throughout the Austin area to support our field operations and maintain our fleet of heavy construction equipment.

Responsibilities:

The Mobile Construction Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing equipment issues, performing repairs in the field, and ensuring company equipment remains safe, reliable, and operational. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced construction environment.

Typical Job Tasks:

Travel to jobsite, diagnose equipment failure. Make repairs as necessary to return equipment to operational state. Wide variety of tasks, electrical, A/C, hydraulics, undercarriage, major component remove and replace (engines, transmissions, differentials). Diagnose minor engine and transmission problems (overheating, fuel issue, and leaks).

License Requirements:

Commercial driver's License (Class B minimum) Must be able to perform the following with or without accommodation:
