Responsibilities Lead and mentor a team of mechanics, coordinating daily tasks and ensuring high-quality workmanship across all maintenance activities. Diagnose and repair heavy duty trucks and trailers using schematics and technical manuals. Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs Conduct complex repairs involving transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, electrical systems—including automotive electrical repairs—and powertrain components. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques to execute repairs efficiently and safely. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, parts used, and repairs performed; ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols. Support Service Writer with maintaining shop parts inventory Skills Strong mechanical knowledge of equipment and familiarity with schematics for troubleshooting complex systems. Proficiency in automotive diagnostics for vehicle maintenance and automotive electrical system repair. Hands-on experience with diesel mechanics including diesel engine repair for trucks and heavy-duty vehicles. Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics accurately; excellent problem-solving skills in mechanical systems repair. Strong leadership qualities with the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining safety standards; customer service orientation is a plus.
