Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Forklift Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of forklifts and other engine driven equipment. This role requires mechanical knowledge, familiarity with diagnostic tools, and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems. The Forklift Mechanic will ensure all equipment operates efficiently, safely, and reliably to support ongoing operations. Duties Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment including forklifts, side by sides, tractors and mowers. Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic issues using schematics and diagnostic tools. Conduct engine diagnostics and repairs on gas and diesel engines. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding and hand tools to meet operational specifications. Replace or repair hydraulic systems, suspensions, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems. Use power tools and specialized equipment for assembly, disassembly, alignment, and repair tasks. Maintain detailed service records of repairs performed on each piece of equipment. Assist with equipment troubleshooting during operational issues to minimize downtime. Follow safety protocols during all maintenance activities to ensure a safe working environment. Skills Experience with equipment maintenance and repair in shop or industrial settings. Experience in mechanical diagnostics and repair as well as electrical diagnostics for complex systems. Proficiency with schematics, OEM specifications, and troubleshooting manuals. Ability to operate heavy equipment safely when necessary for testing repairs or adjustments. Skilled in welding, fabrication, HVAC systems related to heavy machinery a plus Excellent mechanical skills with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools for assembly and repair tasks. Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on equipment troubleshooting and preventive maintenance. Good customer service skills for communicating effectively with clients or team members regarding repairs or operational issues. This position offers an opportunity to work with a dynamic team dedicated to maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency in heavy equipment operation and servicing. Candidates should possess a solid foundation in heavy machinery mechanics combined with the ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and repair techniques.
