Job Summary Jackson Construction, Ltd is seeking a skilled and dedicated field mechanic with extensive experience in construction-related large equipment, particularly Caterpillar machinery, and heavy trucks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diagnosing and repairing electronically controlled Cat engines using CAT ET and diagnostic software. This job offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of heavy equipment in a dynamic construction environment. The successful applicant will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting complex mechanical issues, and ensuring equipment operates efficiently and safely. Candidates must have at least three years of relevant experience, maintain a good driving record, and pass a drug screening to qualify for this position. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy construction machinery including excavators, cranes, bulldozers, and loaders using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and technical manuals. Conduct electrical diagnostics on systems such as electrical wiring, sensors, switches, and control modules to identify faults accurately. Troubleshoot hydraulic systems, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, and air brake systems to ensure optimal performance. Operate heavy equipment safely during repairs or testing to verify proper functioning after service. Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and document all repairs performed for accountability and future reference.

Qualifications Strong mechanical knowledge of construction machinery maintenance including excavators, front end loaders, backhoes, etc., and other industrial equipment. Skilled in electrical diagnostics, automotive repair techniques, hydraulics troubleshooting, and schematics interpretation. Ability to use power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic software effectively. Knowledge of diesel engine diagnostics and repair procedures along with HVAC systems on heavy machinery. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues efficiently. Valid driver's license with experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators or tractor-trailers is advantageous.

Pay:

From $32.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 50.0 per week
