Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Construction Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintaining and repairing diesel engines and heavy equipment. This role involves diagnosing mechanical issues, performing repairs, and ensuring the optimal performance of various diesel-powered vehicles and machinery. The Construction Heavy Equipment Mechanic will work closely with other team members to maintain high safety standards and operational efficiency. Responsibilities Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical problems in diesel engines and heavy equipment. Perform routine maintenance on construction heavy equipment mechanic including oil changes, filter replacements, and system checks. Repair or replace faulty components such as shocks, struts, and hydraulic systems. Operate heavy equipment safely while conducting repairs or maintenance tasks. Read and interpret schematics to understand systems and components for effective troubleshooting. Assemble parts and systems as needed to ensure proper functionality of equipment. Conduct heavy lifting as required during repair processes. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols at all times. Skills Proficiency in working with Caterpillar engines and other diesel systems. Experience with heavy equipment operation is preferred. Strong mechanical skills with the ability to weld when necessary. Knowledge of hydraulics and their applications in diesel machinery. Ability to read schematics for effective diagnosis and repair of mechanical issues. Capability to perform heavy lifting tasks associated with the repair of large equipment. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
