Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Mechanic Assistant and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy equipment, industrial machinery, and vehicle systems. Responsibilities Assist skilled mechanics with diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment, farm machinery, trucks, and industrial systems. Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools to perform maintenance tasks. Support the inspection and maintenance of vehicle systems including transmissions, brakes, suspension, hydraulics, electrical systems, and air brakes. Help with equipment repairs such as welding, tire service, shocks & struts replacement, and alignment procedures. Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers under supervision. Read schematics and technical manuals to assist in troubleshooting mechanical issues. Perform routine inspections on vehicles and equipment to ensure safety standards are met; assist with vehicle maintenance schedules. Support the assembly and disassembly of mechanical components during repairs or upgrades. Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency. Experience Previous experience working with heavy equipment operation or vehicle maintenance is highly preferred. Dealership experience or background in automotive diagnostics and repair is a strong plus. Familiarity with fabrication techniques, welding, soldering, and electrical system repair is advantageous. Knowledge of schematics for mechanical systems including hydraulics, air brakes, transmissions, HVAC systems, and automotive electrical systems. Hands-on experience with farm machinery, industrial equipment, or heavy truck repair will set you apart. Mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment confidently. Strong understanding of vehicle systems for trucks or automotive repair including tire service and suspension work.
