This position keeps equipment safe, dependable, and ready to rent through timely repairs, preventive maintenance, accurate service records, and organized shop practices.
Primary Responsibilities:
Inspect, troubleshoot, service, and repair electric and engine-powered aerial lifts, including scissor lifts and boom lifts. Inspect, troubleshoot, service, and repair propane, gasoline, diesel, and electric forklifts. Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, charging, battery, brake, steering, drive, and control-system problems. Complete preventive maintenance, including fluids, filters, lubrication, batteries, tires, hoses, chains, brakes, and safety devices. Perform rental-ready and return inspections and correct problems before equipment is released to a customer. Respond to field-service needs and complete repairs at customer jobsites when required. Identify needed parts, prepare accurate parts requests, and communicate repair status and estimated completion time. Document labor, parts, inspection results, meter hours, and completed repairs in company service records. Maintain tools, service equipment, work areas, and parts storage in a clean and organized condition. Follow manufacturer procedures, company safety rules, lockout practices, and applicable workplace requirements. Report unsafe equipment, repeated failures, customer damage, and repairs that require outside assistance.
Maintenance Efforts:
Help build and maintain a preventive-maintenance schedule based on machine hours, time intervals, and manufacturer recommendations. Track open repairs and prioritize equipment needed for upcoming rentals or deliveries. Reduce repeat failures by identifying root causes and verifying repairs through operational testing. Support fleet reliability by recommending replacement of worn components before they cause downtime. Assist with inventory checks, battery care, charging practices, and equipment storage procedures.
Required Qualifications:
Hands-on experience repairing construction, industrial, agricultural, automotive, or rental equipment. Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and engine systems. Ability to read service manuals, wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics, fault codes, and parts diagrams. Ability to use diagnostic meters, pressure gauges, scan tools, hand tools, and power tools safely. Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record. Dependable attendance, good judgment, and the ability to work independently.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with JLG, Genie, MEC, LGMG, Skyjack, Hyster, Yale, Toyota, Mitsubishi, or similar equipment. Experience with electric-drive systems, industrial batteries, chargers, LPG fuel systems, diesel engines, and telematics. Manufacturer training, forklift certification, aerial-lift training, or related technical-school education.
Physical and Work Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds and perform frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and standing. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in changing temperatures and weather conditions. Ability to work safely around moving equipment, batteries, fuels, oils, hydraulic pressure, and elevated work platforms. Ability to work occasional overtime or respond to urgent service needs when required.
Performance Expectations:
Complete safe, accurate repairs with minimal repeat work. Keep rental equipment available by completing inspections and maintenance on schedule. Communicate delays, parts needs, and major repair findings promptly. Maintain complete and accurate service documentation.
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
