Job Description

BAR Constructors, Inc. is a general contractor performing water and wastewater projects in the North Texas & Central Texas Areas. We are currently looking for a Construction Equipment Mechanic to assist with preventative maintenance and repairs of diesel equipment in the shop. The Construction Equipment Mechanic will travel to various job sites to make electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic repairs on equipment such as excavators, loaders, trenchers, forklifts, and more. Applicants should have some experience with diesel heavy equipment repair so they can determine what parts and tools are necessary for repairs.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
  • Perform electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs as well as preventative maintenance
  • Diagnoses, services, and repairs various systems that are found on pieces of heavy equipment
  • Performs routine maintenance checks and adjustments on such things as fluid levels, hoses, belts, brakes, tires, and clutches; changes filters and oil, and lubricates vehicles and motor driven equipment.
  • Repair of Cat, John Deere, and various other construction equipment
  • Troubleshoot issues with diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical
  • Determine what parts and tools are necessary to make repairs
  • Complete shop paperwork
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
Job Requirements:
  • 2+ years of minimum experience diesel/heavy equipment repair
  • Welding experience (a plus)
  • Manual dexterity
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and physical
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Must be 25 years or older (to drive company truck)
  • Must have the physical ability to repeatedly work overhead, kneel, and climb equipment as required by task
  • Must have the ability to frequently lift 50 to 75 pounds
  • Must have own equipment and tools

We self-perform earthwork, concrete structures, yard piping, exposed/process piping, and water equipment installation.
