Front Line Power Construction (FLPC) specializes in power construction services from laying foundations to installing low-, medium-, and high-voltage equipment. We are seeking for an experienced Field Mechanic to keep our fleet of trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment running strong across our electrical construction and power infrastructure job sites. You'll split your time between the shop and active job sites, diagnosing and repairing everything from diesel engines to hydraulic systems on digger derricks, bucket trucks, cranes, and more. What You'll Do Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel and gas-powered trucks, trailers, digger derricks, bucket trucks, cranes, and other heavy construction equipment Respond to equipment breakdowns at job sites — often under time pressure — to keep projects moving Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, hydraulic, electrical, and brake system issues Complete DOT inspections and keep the fleet compliant with federal, state, and company safety standards Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and parts usage logs Order parts and coordinate with vendors on repairs Perform welding and fabrication repairs as needed Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections, flagging equipment that needs major repair or replacement Travel to job sites across the service area, with occasional overnight travel for out-of-town projects Follow all company safety policies, including PPE requirements and lockout/tagout procedures What You'll Bring High school diploma or GED required; technical/trade school certification in diesel or heavy equipment mechanics a plus 5+ years of experience as a mechanic servicing heavy equipment, commercial trucks, or construction machinery Experience with digger derricks, bucket trucks, or utility fleet equipment strongly preferred Working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine systems Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred (or willingness to obtain) Your own hand tools (we provide the specialty and heavy equipment tools) Ability to read wiring diagrams, service manuals, and schematics Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently in the field DOT inspection certification a plus Work Environment This role involves regular lifting up to 50 lbs (occasionally 75+ lbs with assistance), frequent bending, kneeling, and climbing, and work in confined spaces. You'll work both in the shop and outdoors in varying weather conditions, with exposure to noise, fumes, grease, and moving mechanical parts. Travel to active job sites is required, including occasional overnight trips.
