Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Construction Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of heavy construction machinery and industrial equipment. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment operates efficiently, safely, and reliably on job sites. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of CAT models as well as a variety of other makes. Duties Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on heavy construction equipment such as excavators, scrapers, bulldozers, and loaders, water trucks, and semi trucks. Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues involving transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, engines, brakes, suspensions, and HVAC components Conduct electrical diagnostics and automotive diagnostics to identify malfunctions quickly and accurately Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding and hand tools to ensure equipment functionality Troubleshoot equipment problems using schematics and technical manuals; execute repairs efficiently to minimize downtime Service and repair farm machinery, industrial equipment, tractor-trailers, and other heavy machinery used in construction projects Perform tire service, alignment checks, air brake repairs, and heavy lifting tasks safely and effectively Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all repairs performed; ensure compliance with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) standards Assist in assembly of new equipment or replacement parts; support welding projects when necessary Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with team members and clients regarding repair status and recommendations Skills Proven dealership experience or extensive background in heavy equipment servicing Strong mechanical knowledge across a variety of construction machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and industrial equipment Proficiency in electrical diagnostics, hydraulic troubleshooting, diesel engine repair, transmission work, brake repair, suspension systems, and HVAC systems Skilled in fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; adept with power tools and hand tools for repairs and assembly Ability to read schematics accurately; interpret technical manuals for complex machinery maintenance Experience with OEM parts replacement; familiarity with Caterpillar (CAT) equipment preferred Excellent problem-solving skills; capable of diagnosing issues efficiently under pressure Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting; capable of working in various weather conditions on active job sites Effective communication skills; committed to safety standards and delivering quality workmanship in a timely manner Join our team as a Heavy Construction Equipment Mechanic if you're eager to apply your technical expertise in a fast-paced environment where your skills make a real impact.
