The Opportunity Nerospec Group is hiring motivated, safety-focused technicians to support operations at Kennecott Underground Copper in Utah. This project is introducing Level 9 collision-avoidance technology at the first mine in the United States to implement this advanced system. Level 9 technology can intervene with mobile equipment through an electro-hydraulic braking interface when a hazardous situation is detected. Because this technology is new to the U.S. mining industry, we do not expect applicants to already have direct experience with it. Technical and system-specific training will be provided. We are looking for people who are dependable, willing to learn, able to communicate clearly, and ready to work as part of a team. If you have experience with electrical systems, electronics, hydraulics, automotive systems, heavy equipment, industrial controls, communications, or similar technology, we encourage you to apply. What You'll Do Install, configure, commission, test, and maintain Nerospec Level 9 collision-avoidance systems Install and maintain electro-hydraulic components used to interface with mobile-equipment braking systems Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, hydraulic, sensor, communication, and CAN-bus systems Diagnose hydraulic pressure, flow, valve, hose, fitting, and braking-interface issues Safely perform functional testing of automatic slow-down and stopping functions Work on underground and surface mobile mining equipment Use wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics, OEM documentation, and diagnostic equipment Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, system testing, and equipment commissioning Identify system faults and determine whether they are electrical, electronic, hydraulic, mechanical, software, or communication related Document completed work, system faults, repairs, test results, and equipment condition Communicate clearly with operators, maintenance personnel, site leadership, and technical-support teams Help identify ways to improve equipment reliability and system performance Follow MSHA regulations, site procedures, OEM requirements, lockout/tagout procedures, and Nerospec safety standards Participate in ongoing technical training as the system continues to develop What We're Looking For Direct experience with collision-avoidance technology is not required. We can teach the system, but we need someone who brings the right attitude, work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and willingness to learn.
