Position Summary We are seeking a motivated, entry-level Technician Apprentice to join our team in the Richmond area. This program is designed to develop early-career mechanics into fully qualified technicians through up to 26 weeks of comprehensive hands-on training across key focus areas, including safety, tires, wheel end, air brake systems, PM inspections, suspension, basic electrical, and basic hydraulics.
Please note:
This role requires a commitment to working 2nd Shift (2:00 PM to 12:00 AM) following training completion, as well as travel during the training phase.
Complete a hands-on curriculum covering PM inspections, air brakes, hydraulics, electrical, suspension, and shop safety.
Travel Requirements:
Willingness to travel during the training period (may include overnight stays for 1-2 weeks at a time).
Tool Package & Allowance:
Receive a company-issued technician tool set valued at approximately $2,500 on day one (ownership transfers to you after 1 year of continuous employment). Additionally, receive a $150/month tool allowance paid directly to the tool vendor throughout training and into permanent placement (tools purchased via allowance belong to you immediately).
Final Placement:
Upon demonstrating proficiency across the curriculum, you will be assigned to 2nd shift at one of three Richmond area shop locations. Qualifications Completion of an automotive or diesel trade school program. 6 to 12 months of experience in automotive, diesel, or military mechanical roles preferred. Ability to work 2nd Shift hours (2:00 PM - 12:00 AM). Willingness to travel during the initial 26-week training period. Strong eagerness to learn and grow within the heavy equipment and waste management industry.
