Service Engineer MacGregor USA, Inc.
Services are expected to maintain flexible working hours in response to demand. More tasks and responsibilities Diagnostics and troubleshooting of hydraulic and mechanical equipment Supervise and perform the refurbishment, upgrades, inspections, preventative maintenance and corrective actions Identify service and spares sales opportunities and communicate them to the line manager to support all activities To support Service overall goals and budgets Preparing detailed service reports and documentation for all work performed Ensure that all activities comply with the Integrated Management System (IMS), QHSE and other rules and requirements according to MacGregor standards Reporting directly to the Operations Superintendent, Operations, Americas and North Sea. The position will be based in MacGregor's office in Norfolk, Virginia. What you'll need to succeed You have a background in the merchant, offshore, naval or maritime industry, with a primary focus on hydraulic and mechanical equipment. Knowledge and experience in basic electronics are a plus. On a personal level, we are looking for an independent professional who has the confidence to make decisions under pressure. Effective communication, flexibility and openness to new information are the key to success in this role. The ideal candidate will enjoy hands-on work and thrive in a collaborative, multicultural environment.

Ideally you have:
Technical education at college in electrical or mechanical disciplines, or a similar relevant field Minimum 3 years of hydraulic and mechanical experience Basic working knowledge of electronics, experience in PLC's is a plus Previous experience with ship and/or port cranes, winches Willingness and ability to travel for extended periods of time Fluent in both written and spoken English Why MacGregor?
