Job Description

Heavy Equipment Mechanic Location:
Roanoke, Va Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and reliable Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. This role is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of construction and industrial equipment. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical knowledge, troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to safety and quality work. Key Responsibilities Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy equipment including loaders, excavators, bucket trucks, digger derricks, and skid steers. Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, AC, pneumatic, and engine systems Maintain accurate service and repair records Conduct safety inspections and ensure equipment meets operational standards Respond to local field service calls as needed Keep work area clean and organized Follow all company and OSHA safety guidelines Qualifications 2+ years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic (or related field) Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics Valid driver's license (CDL preferred but not required) Welding and fabrication experience is a plus Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various weather conditions Skills & Attributes Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills Dependable and self-motivated Good communication and teamwork skills Attention to detail and safety Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and holidays Retirement plan (e.g., 401k) Opportunities for training and advancement Schedule Monday-Thursday 6AM-4:30PM, with the possibility of overtime
Pay:
$25.00 - $38.00 per hour
