Our team rebuilds alternators used in demanding transit, trucking, and commercial-vehicle applications, where workmanship, safety, cleanliness, and reliability matter. The right candidate enjoys practical mechanical work, takes pride in quality, works safely in a shop environment, and contributes positively to a team. This is a physical, demanding, and detail-oriented role involving the teardown, cleaning, preparation, assembly, and functional testing of used alternator cores. What You'll Do Disassemble used heavy-duty alternators and related components. Inspect parts for wear, damage, and re-useability. Wash, clean, and prepare housings, hardware, and components for rebuild. Reassemble alternators using established work instructions, specifications, and quality requirements. Replace worn or defective components such as bearings, rectifiers, rotors, stators, and hardware as required. Perform functional testing to verify output, charging performance, and proper operation. Identify assembly, fitment, electrical, or mechanical issues and communicate them to the supervisor or team lead. Use hand tools, power tools, presses, cleaning equipment, test equipment, and material handling equipment safely. Maintain an organized work area and follow housekeeping, environmental, and safety procedures. Help meet daily production, quality, and turnaround-time goals. Work collaboratively with team members in a fast-paced remanufacturing shop. What We're Looking For Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools, assemblies, and parts. Previous experience in a mechanical, automotive, diesel, industrial, machining, manufacturing, repair, maintenance, or remanufacturing environment is preferred. Experience with starters, alternators, electrical components, trucks, diesel equipment, or rotating equipment is a plus, but not required. Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions, assembly procedures, and safety requirements. A quality-focused mindset and attention to detail. Ability to recognize worn, damaged, or questionable components. Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn. Ability to work independently while also functioning well as part of a production team. Dependable attendance and a commitment to completing work safely and correctly. Physical Requirements This is an active shop-floor position.

Candidates must be able to:

Regularly lift, carry, push, or pull parts and assemblies weighing over 20 pounds, and up to 70 poundsoccasionally using approved lifting methods including carts, hoists, fixtures, or team lifting as required. Stand, walk, bend, reach, crouch, and work at benches or equipment for extended periods. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and safety-toe footwear as applicable. Handle heavy, dirty, oily, or used automotive and industrial components while wearing appropriate PPE as required. Safely use hand tools, power tools, cleaning equipment, presses, and test equipment. Work in a manufacturing environment with typical shop noise, dirt, oils, cleaning chemicals, and moving equipment while wearing appropriate PPE as required. Preferred Qualifications Automotive, diesel, fleet, trucking, transit, industrial-equipment, or electric-motor repair experience. Experience with disassembly and reassembly of mechanical or electromechanical products. Familiarity with bearings, bushings, fasteners, electrical connections, and basic electrical testing. Machining, fabrication, maintenance, warehouse, or production experience. Forklift or pallet-jack experience is a plus. Ability to read basic work instructions, part numbers, and inspection criteria.
