This is not simply a yard labor position . We're looking for the person who naturally notices when something isn't right, figures out what is causing it, and takes care of it before a small problem becomes an expensive one. If you're the type of person who likes fixing things, organizing a shop or yard, maintaining vehicles and equipment, and leaving everything better than you found it, this could be a great part-time position. The primary goal of this position is simple: Make sure Blue Loo is ready to operate when Monday morning arrives. Equipment Maintenance & Repair You'll help inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment including: Portable toilets Handwash stations Holding tanks Service trucks Vacuum pumps Hoses, fittings, valves, and related equipment Utility and equipment trailers Tools and other yard equipment Typical work may include: Repairing doors, hinges, latches, springs, toilet seats, urinals, vents, handles, and hardware Diagnosing and repairing minor plumbing issues Replacing hoses, fittings, clamps, valves, and other components Performing basic preventive maintenance Checking fluids, tires, lights, connections, and other basic vehicle items Troubleshooting pumps and equipment Identifying developing mechanical problems Pressure washing and preparing equipment Determining whether a problem can reasonably be repaired in-house or requires a professional repair facility You do not need to be a professional diesel mechanic. You do need to be mechanically inclined, resourceful, and willing to investigate a problem before assuming it needs to be sent to a repair shop. Inventory & Restocking You'll also take ownership of keeping our operating supplies organized and stocked.

Responsibilities include:

Check inventory levels weekly Restock service trucks for the upcoming week Maintain inventory of toilet paper, sanitizer, deodorizer, cleaning products, gloves, paper products, pump supplies, repair parts, fittings, hoses, straps, and other operating supplies Keep inventory areas clean, labeled, and organized Maintain established minimum inventory levels Identify supplies and parts that need to be reordered Prepare a weekly reorder list Receive and organize incoming supplies and parts Identify unusual usage or inventory discrepancies Our drivers should never arrive Monday morning and discover that something they need isn't stocked. Yard & Equipment Readiness You'll help keep our equipment yard organized, safe, and ready for operation.

That includes:

Inspecting returned rental equipment Identifying and repairing damaged equipment Preparing and staging equipment for upcoming deliveries Keeping tools and parts organized Keeping the yard orderly Making sure equipment scheduled for delivery is clean and functional Identifying things that need attention without waiting to be asked Backup Delivery & Pickup Support This position may also occasionally assist with deliveries and pickups.

That could include:

Delivering or retrieving portable toilets and handwash stations Handling occasional weekend event deliveries or pickups Helping with short-notice customer requests Loading and securing equipment Towing and backing trailers Additional weekday delivery or pickup hours may occasionally be available based on your availability. Initiative & Problem-Solving This is one of the most important parts of this job. We're looking for someone who can walk into the yard, look around, determine what needs attention, prioritize it, and get to work.

Your natural approach should be:

See it → assess it → troubleshoot it → solve it → communicate it. We don't expect you to know how to repair everything. We do expect you to investigate problems, use common sense and good judgment, and bring management solutions whenever possible—not simply problems. When you do need help, we'd rather hear: "Here's what's happening, here's what I've checked, and here's what I think we should do." Taking Ownership We're looking for someone who treats company vehicles, tools, and equipment with care.

The ideal person:

Notices a worn hose before it fails Doesn't ignore a low tire, leak, loose bolt, unusual sound, or damaged component Puts tools back where they belong Keeps equipment clean and organized Thinks preventively instead of waiting for something to break Takes pride in maintaining equipment properly Doesn't need someone standing over them assigning the next task Understands the cost of equipment and takes care of it accordingly What Success Looks Like At the end of the weekend: Trucks are stocked Operating supplies are replenished Low inventory has been identified Equipment for upcoming deliveries is ready Minor repairs have been completed Larger repair needs have been diagnosed or identified Tools and parts are organized The yard is orderly Trucks and trailers have been visually inspected Blue Loo is ready for Monday morning

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

Strong mechanical aptitude Hands-on experience maintaining or repairing vehicles, equipment, machinery, plumbing, construction equipment, or similar systems Ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical problems Ability to work independently without constant supervision Strong initiative and problem-solving ability Dependable and reliable Comfortable working outdoors year-round Ability to perform physical work and lift approximately 50-75 lbs when necessary Valid driver's license Reliable transportation to work

Preferred:

Automotive or fleet maintenance experience Small-engine or equipment repair experience Construction or facilities maintenance experience Plumbing experience Welding/fabrication experience Trailer experience Commercial vehicle experience Inventory or shop-management experience Experience towing and backing trailers Portable sanitation experience is not required . We can teach you our equipment. We're primarily looking for mechanical ability, initiative, judgment, organization, and pride in your work.

Pay:
