Role:
LYONS TRUCK PARTS INC
in Kenosha, WI is looking for a skilled Transmission/Differential Rebuilder to join their team. If you have a passion for heavy-duty drivetrain components and take pride in precision rebuilds, this is the opportunity for you. Responsibilities:
Disassemble, inspect, and rebuild manual transmissions for heavy-duty trucks Rebuild and repair differentials, axles, and drivetrain components to OEM specifications Diagnose mechanical failures and determine appropriate repair or replacement solutions Measure and inspect gears, bearings, shafts, and housings using precision tools Reassemble units ensuring proper tolerances, torque specs, and quality standards are met Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the rebuild shop Document rebuild processes and parts used for inventory and quality control purposes
Requirements:
Proven hands-on experience rebuilding heavy-duty truck transmissions and/or differentials Strong knowledge of drivetrain systems including Eaton, Meritor, Spicer, and similar brands Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and service documentation Proficiency with precision measuring tools such as micrometers and dial indicators Mechanical aptitude with strong attention to detail and quality workmanship Ability to lift heavy components and work in a physically demanding shop environment Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
