Weston, West Virginia Position Summary Tire & Rubber Inc. is seeking a dependable Light Duty Technician/Mechanic to perform routine maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on company vehicles, light equipment, and 53-foot semi-trailers. The technician will help keep company vehicles, trailers, and equipment safe, reliable, and ready for daily operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Vehicle & Equipment Maintenance

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on company vehicles and light equipment.
• Perform oil and filter changes and check and maintain fluid levels.
• Inspect and replace belts, hoses, batteries, lights, wiper blades, and other routine service components.
• Inspect, repair, rotate, and replace tires as needed.
• Perform basic brake inspections and repairs.
• Perform basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics.
• Lubricate and service vehicles and equipment according to maintenance schedules.
• Identify mechanical problems and report major repair needs to management. 53-Foot Semi-Trailer Repair & Maintenance
• Inspect, maintain, and repair 53-foot semi-trailers.
• Repair and replace trailer flooring and damaged floor sections.
• Perform trailer roof, sidewall, nose, and rear-door repairs.
• Repair trailer doors, hinges, rollers, tracks, latches, and locking mechanisms.
• Inspect and repair landing gear and related components.
• Inspect and repair trailer suspension components.
• Inspect and repair trailer electrical wiring, lights, connectors, and related components.
• Inspect and repair trailer air lines, hoses, fittings, and other air-system components.
• Replace or repair brake chambers and related brake components.
• Inspect and repair trailer brakes and associated components.
• Inspect tires, wheels, hubs, and related components for wear or damage.
• Perform minor structural and body repairs.
• Assist with repairs identified during DOT inspections.
• Identify safety-related defects and ensure they are reported and corrected before equipment is returned to service. Welding & Fabrication
• Perform basic welding and fabrication repairs on trailers and equipment.
• Repair or fabricate brackets, supports, trailer components, and other metal parts as needed.
• Perform minor structural welding and repairs within the employee's training and experience.
• Safely operate welding, cutting, grinding, and fabrication equipment.
• Follow proper hot-work and fire-prevention procedures when welding or cutting. Maintenance Records & Shop Responsibilities
• Document preventive maintenance and completed repairs.
• Report parts and supplies needed for upcoming repairs.
• Maintain tools and shop equipment in good working condition.
• Keep maintenance and shop areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Properly store oils, lubricants, parts, tools, and other maintenance materials.
• Assist with maintaining an inventory of commonly used repair parts and supplies. Qualifications
• Basic knowledge of automotive, truck, trailer, and mechanical repair.
• Experience repairing and maintaining 53-foot semi-trailers preferred.
• Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
• Knowledge of trailer air-brake systems preferred.
• Basic understanding of trailer electrical systems.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, jacks, welding equipment, and other shop equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems.
• Ability to work independently and complete assigned repairs.
• Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to follow instructions and established safety procedures.
• Valid driver's license preferred. Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, kneel, squat, climb, crawl, and work underneath trucks and trailers.
• Ability to safely climb onto or into trailers when required.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to stand and work for extended periods.
• Ability to safely perform physically demanding maintenance and repair tasks.

Safety Responsibilities The Light Duty Technician/Mechanic must follow all company safety policies and procedures, use required personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a safe and organized work area. The technician is responsible for reporting unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, spills, or other safety concerns to management. Vehicles or trailers with safety-related defects must not be returned to service until the defect has been properly addressed. Work Environment Work may be performed in a maintenance shop, yard, landfill, tire processing facility, or other company operating areas. The employee may be exposed to noise, dust, dirt, grease, oils, welding operations, weather conditions, and moving vehicles and equipment. Other Duties as Assigned

• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
• Assist other departments and employees when operational needs require.
