ABOUT THIS ROLE
Symphony Residential manages 13 multifamily communities across Broward County — from Coral Springs to Fort Lauderdale. We're looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician who brings both technical skill and professional pride to the job. You'll work alongside our Maintenance Manager and Property Manager to keep our properties running at a high standard: timely unit turnovers, responsive work order completion, and proactive upkeep across the portfolio. This is a role for someone who owns their work. You won't be micromanaged — but you will be held to clear standards. And when you perform, you get rewarded for it.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Perform unit turnovers efficiently and thoroughly — drywall, paint, plumbing, appliances, cleaning, and punch-out inspections Complete and document all work orders in AppFolio with accurate notes and photo documentation Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues across a range of categories: plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and appliance repair Conduct and contribute to routine property inspections; identify and flag issues before they escalate Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager and Property Manager on scheduling, prioritization, and quality control Respond to after-hours emergency calls on a rotating on-call schedule Maintain your personal toolset and keep vehicle/equipment organized and ready Maintain cleanliness and curb appeal across all properties — including dumpster area upkeep, bulk trash resolution, and routine cleaning of common areas and building exteriors
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Technical Skills (Non-Negotiable): Appliance repairs : diagnosis and repair of common residential appliances including stoves, refrigerators, washers, dryers, and dishwashers; ability to identify when a unit requires replacement vs. repair
Plumbing :
pipe repair and replacement, fixture installation, water heater troubleshooting (including hot water heater systems), drain clearing
HVAC :
Must have EPA 608 Universal Certification or HVAC Certification — ability to diagnose and perform basic HVAC repairs, filter changes, thermostat troubleshooting, and unit inspections General repairs : drywall, carpentry, painting, appliance troubleshooting (refrigerators, stoves, washers/dryers, garbage disposals)
Electrical:
basic repairs only (outlet replacements, fixture swaps, GFCI, switches) — licensed work referred appropriately
Experience & Logistics:
Minimum 5 years of experience in multifamily residential maintenance with a documented history of unit turnovers Must reside within 20 minutes of Coral Springs, FL Valid Florida driver's license and reliable personal vehicle Must own a complete set of professional tools Smartphone proficient — able to receive work orders, take and upload photos, and communicate via text and AppFolio Must be available for rotating on-call emergency shifts
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
(NOT
REQUIRED BUT IDEAL
) Bilingual preferred. English/Spanish or English/Creole — strongly preferred given our resident demographics; fluent English is required EPA 608 Universal Certification (required) or HVAC certification — higher-level credentials valued Experience working across a portfolio of multiple properties simultaneously

Full-time | 40 hours/week | Monday-Friday (8-hour shifts) | Rotating on-call for after-hours emergencies
