- Job Description
- The Remote Appliance Technician installs, repairs, and maintains industrial and commercial refrigeration equipment, HVAC equipment as well as all kitchen and laundry equipment and appliances. All duties are to be performed in accordance with NMS' mission, vision, and values.
- Responsibilities
- + Trouble shoots and repairs, as dictated by sound business practices, industrial appliances used in food service areas, laundries, and other general service areas.
- Qualifications
- + At least five (5) years' experience working on commercial or industrial equipment including but not limited to refrigeration systems, HVAC systems, kitchen and laundry appliances.

CANDIDATES RESIDING OUTSIDE FAIRBANKS AREA
_- _Candidates residing in Alaska & the Lower 48 for any contract_
- _: For the purposes of pre-employment testing, Fairbanks, AK will be considered the point of hire (with the exception of drug testing, which will be conducted near the candidate's place of residence).
Alyeska Contract:
pre-employment testing will be scheduled near the candidate's area of residence within the state. The only exception is when the candidate lives in a region without the necessary service providers to complete all requirements._- _Flights to Remote Locations_

Kneel on one knee and stand. Return to kneel on opposite knee. Repeat alternate kneeling sequence x 10 for each knee, self-pace but continuous. +Stairs:
Climb up and down 12 steps x 5 for a total of 60 steps; + _Allow 30 second rest after climbing up and down each set of 30 steps._ +Stairs & Carry:
Climb up and down 12 steps x 2 for a total of 24 steps while carrying 40 lbs. in one hand and using the other hand to grasp a railing for safety, self-paced but continuous. + _Allow a 30 second rest period after climbing up and down 12 steps while carrying._ +Slanted Ladder:
Climb a slanted ladder with 8 rungs x 8 repetitions for a total of 64 rungs; + _Allow 30 second rests after each climb (up and down) of 16 rungs, self-paced._ +Shovel:
Perform a shovel test for three (3) minutes self-paced but continuous (i.e., no breaks) using a standard snow shovel with a 3 lb. weight attached to the shovel blade. (e.g. sand bag weight securely taped to the shovel blade.)- NMS Core Values
