The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, experience with commercial HVAC equipment and controls, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced team environment. HVAC Technician Job Summary The HVAC Technician will maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and monitor commercial and industrial HVAC/R systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. Experience should include ACUs, AHUs, heat pumps, VAVs, DDCs, and ventilation systems . The technician will perform equipment rounds, testing, inspections, and data analysis; document findings and repairs; maintain a clean and organized work environment; and provide recommendations for future maintenance or repairs. Experience with chillers, boilers, and commercial kitchen equipment is a plus. HVAC Technician Essential Duties & Responsibilities Perform preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance on HVAC/R equipment and systems. Read and interpret sequences of operation, control schematics, blueprints, equipment service manuals, and maintenance manuals. Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and monitor HVAC systems. Perform equipment rounds, testing, inspections, and operating readings. Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS). Check refrigerant systems for proper operation and efficiency. Start and stop HVAC systems as required. Safely operate refrigerant recovery equipment, vacuum pumps, charging equipment, and service gauges. Perform refrigerant piping brazing and lubricate fans, motors, and linkages. Analyze HVAC/R system problems and determine root causes of malfunctions. Communicate equipment issues and recommended corrective actions promptly and accurately. Document problems identified, repairs performed, adjustments made, and recommended future work. Complete service reports after work is completed and the customer is satisfied with the provided conditions. Maintain accurate equipment operating logs, lubrication logs, refrigerant logbooks, and chemical water treatment logs. Maintain inventories of filters, belts, spare parts, refrigerant, tools, and other required materials. Monitor and document air-pressure differentials across filters and coils. Maintain tools, test equipment, vehicles, and maintenance areas in safe and working condition. Order appropriate supplies and parts required for preventative maintenance, repairs, and service work. Assist other mechanics and operators with major building and equipment repairs. Work with CMMS planners/schedulers to optimize preventative maintenance tasks and programs. Maintain clean and organized work areas. Follow all applicable OSHA and company safety requirements. Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE). Safely use hand tools, power tools, and test instruments. Follow procedures for the safe storage, use, and disposal of hazardous materials. Complete a Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) before performing maintenance or service work. Attend OEM training classes and seminars as assigned. Complete timesheets, service documentation, and other required paperwork accurately and on time. Communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, supervisors, and other personnel. Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergency work. Perform other duties as assigned by the Facility Maintenance Manager. HVAC Technician Qualifications Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Two-year HVAC technical certificate or state-approved HVAC license required. HVAC Technician Experience Experience working with commercial and/or industrial HVAC equipment and systems . Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and monitor HVAC/R systems. HVAC Technician Licenses & Certifications Valid driver's license required. EPA Universal Refrigeration Certification required. HVAC Technician Technical Skills Experience with ACUs, AHUs, heat pumps, VAVs, DDCs, and ventilation systems. Ability to work with HVAC/R controls, schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals. Experience using refrigerant recovery equipment, vacuum pumps, charging equipment, and service gauges. Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and HVAC/R test instruments. Experience with BMS and/or CMMS systems is beneficial. Chiller, boiler, and commercial kitchen equipment experience is a plus. Communication Skills Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors. Spanish/English bilingual communication skills are a plus. Work Environment The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment , maintain a professional attitude, follow established safety procedures, and respond to after-hours emergency service needs as part of an on-call rotation. Pay:
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 50.0 per week
