Job Description
We are seeking an experienced HVAC Refrigeration Technician / Mechanic to join our highly skilled team. This role is responsible for the installation, start-up, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC and refrigeration systems. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on technical skills, a solid understanding of HVAC-R systems, and the ability to work effectively with customers and internal project teams. You will help ensure HVAC and air-quality systems operate safely, efficiently, and according to system design specifications and customer expectations. Key Responsibilities Install, start up, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems. Work closely with Automation and HVAC-R project teams during installation and commissioning activities. Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, electronic, and refrigeration-related issues. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on HVAC-R equipment. Identify potential equipment issues and maintenance risks before they become failures. Clean, adjust, repair, and service HVAC-R systems, including warranty work. Read and follow equipment manuals, technical specifications, service instructions, and system requirements. Ensure all work is performed in accordance with applicable safety standards and Occupational Health and Safety requirements. Maintain accurate records of company equipment, tools, and assets, including usage and condition. Respond professionally to customer questions and service requests. Complete detailed service logs, field reports, and maintenance documentation accurately and on time. Maintain clear and effective communication with customers, end users, and internal teams. Troubleshoot problems efficiently and provide practical solutions in the field. Qualifications & Requirements HVAC Master License and Universal EPA Certification preferred/required. 5+ years of HVAC/R experience, preferably in shipbuilding, marine HVAC, residential HVAC, industrial refrigeration, or industrial chiller systems. Strong knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration principles. Ability to read and interpret HVAC-R equipment drawings, schematics, and system diagrams. Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical HVAC-R systems. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a technical team. Strong customer service and communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively. Willingness and ability to travel up to 60%.
