Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician, where you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing complex mechanical systems that ensure indoor comfort and air quality. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of HVAC equipment, including refrigeration, boilers, and building automation systems, while delivering exceptional service to our clients. Your expertise will help keep facilities running smoothly and efficiently, creating a safe and comfortable environment for all. Responsibilities Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, refrigeration equipment, boilers, and mechanical systems. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and building automation system diagrams to accurately diagnose issues. Perform electrical diagnostics and repairs on HVAC/R equipment using specialized tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters. Conduct routine preventive maintenance to optimize system performance and extend equipment lifespan. Utilize hand tools, welding equipment, and plumbing skills to repair or replace components as needed. Ensure compliance with EPA regulations by handling refrigerants responsibly and maintaining necessary certifications. Collaborate with property maintenance teams to coordinate repairs and upgrades for HVAC systems across multiple facilities. Provide excellent customer service by explaining issues clearly and offering solutions that meet client needs. Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and inspection reports to ensure accurate documentation of all activities. Requirements Proven construction experience with mechanical systems repair or installation. Service technician experience in HVAC/R or related fields. Strong knowledge of schematics, electrical wiring diagrams, and building automation systems. Hands-on experience with HVAC system repair, installation, and maintenance procedures. Familiarity with refrigeration systems, ammonia refrigeration is a plus. Mechanical knowledge of plumbing, boilers, electrical systems, and appliance repair. Ability to use hand tools effectively along with welding equipment for repairs. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; driver certification preferred. EPA certification for handling refrigerants required; additional certifications in HVAC design or electrical diagnostics are advantageous. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical or electrical issues efficiently.
