The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in service, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems, refrigeration units, and related mechanical equipment. This role involves diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring optimal operation of heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems across various property types. A strong background in plumbing, mechanical knowledge and diagnosing is essential to succeed in this position. The technician will also be responsible for interpreting schematics, working with HVAC design plans, and utilizing specialized tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment. A clean valid driver's license is required for field service assignments. Duties Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems including air conditioning units, and ammonia refrigeration systems. Troubleshoot mechanical issues using schematics and HVAC design plans to identify root causes efficiently. Conduct plumbing work related to HVAC and refrigeration systems as needed. Repair and service refrigeration units, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational efficiency. Diagnose electrical problems using testing tools such as ohmmeters; perform equipment repair or replacement accordingly. Weld or fabricate components for HVAC or refrigeration systems when necessary. Maintain detailed service records and documentation of all work performed. Assist with property maintenance tasks related to HVAC and mechanical systems to ensure safety and functionality. Follow all safety protocols during field service operations; operate equipment safely and effectively. Skills Proven experience as a service technician specializing in HVAC, refrigeration, or property maintenance. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and HVAC design plans. Skilled in plumbing, appliance repair, welding, and equipment repair. Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues using tools like ohmmeters; familiarity with HVAC/R equipment is essential. Construction background or mechanic experience is a plus for understanding complex installations. A clean valid driver's license (PERSON driver preferred) for field service calls is a must. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing system failures or inefficiencies. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various property environments.
