  • Mechanical Systems Technician -HVAC/Plumber
  • The Mechanical Systems Technician HVAC/Plumber is responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration systems. This position supports facility operations by ensuring all mechanical systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards and applicable regulations.
  • Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
  • + Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems, piping, fixtures, valves, drains, and related equipment.

+ Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration systems, including air handlers, boilers, chillers, furnaces, and air conditioning units.

+ Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues to identify root causes and implement effective repairs.

+ Inspect plumbing and HVAC systems to ensure proper operation, reliability, and code compliance.

+ Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, piping diagrams, and technical manuals.

+ Install and work with various piping materials, including PVC, CPVC, PEX, copper, and cast iron.

+ Utilize hand tools, power tools, testing devices, gauges, and diagnostic equipment to perform assigned tasks.

+ Respond to equipment failures and emergency service calls to minimize downtime and maintain facility operations.

+ Perform equipment startups, shutdowns, adjustments, and operational testing.

+ Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and work documentation.

+ Adhere to all site safety requirements, environmental regulations, and company policies.

+ Work independently or as part of a maintenance team to complete projects safely and efficiently.

+ Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned by supervision.

  • Qualifications Required for this
Position:
  • + Journeyman-level plumbing experience. + Industrial HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting experience. + EPA Certification or equivalent HVAC certifications. + Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings. + Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Work may be performed in industrial and construction environments with exposure to weather conditions, temperature extremes, noise, dust, fumes, moving equipment, vibration, and other site-specific hazards. Employees must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and meet all customer, site, regulatory, medical, and fitness-for-duty requirements applicable to the position. Must be able to perform all job duties while maintaining a constant commitment to safety, quality, and productivity expectations.
