Job Description
The HVAC/R Technician independently performs commercial HVAC and refrigeration service, maintenance, diagnostics, repair, and installation while providing exceptional customer service and maintaining the highest standards of workmanship and safety. This position represents Rise Mechanical Group in the field and is expected to develop lasting customer relationships through technical expertise, professionalism, and quality service. Typical work schedule is from 7:00am until 4:00pm Monday through Friday and may be shifted slightly from time to time. Emergency service response, overtime, weekends and varying start times may be required based on business needs. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Minimum three years of commercial HVAC/R experience. EPA Section 608 Universal Certification. Valid California Driver's License with an acceptable driving record. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Ability to pass a standard background check. Preferred Qualifications NATE Certification. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. Chiller experience. Healthcare facility experience. ServiceTitan experience. VRF experience. Physical Requirements Frequently lift up to 75 pounds. Climb ladders, scaffolds, rooftops, and mechanical equipment. Work in confined spaces and mechanical rooms. Perform repetitive bending, kneeling, crawling, and climbing. Wear required PPE, including respiratory protection when required. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment. Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration systems. Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control system issues. Service rooftop units, split systems, package units, exhaust fans, pumps, boilers, and refrigeration equipment. Perform refrigerant recovery, evacuation, charging, and leak detection in accordance with EPA regulations. Read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and equipment manuals. Complete accurate ServiceTitan documentation, including labor, materials, recommendations, and photographs. Communicate repair recommendations professionally to customers. Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment. Identify additional service opportunities through company procedures. Participate in ongoing technical and safety training. Maintain compliance with applicable codes and industry standards. Customer Service Expectations Arrive on time and professionally dressed. Communicate clearly and respectfully with customers. Explain findings and repair recommendations professionally. Protect customer property and maintain clean work areas. Build long-term customer relationships through quality workmanship.
