Job Description
Overview We are seeking a reliable and experienced Local Class A Driver with Combo Certification to join our Asphalt team. This role involves operating various types of trucks within local routes, ensuring timely delivery of freight while maintaining safety and compliance standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial driving, with experience handling different trailer types. This position offers an opportunity to work close to home, with a focus on efficient route driving and load management. Pay will be discussed. Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers, including, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other commercial vehicles. Load and unload freight efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary. Deliver freight to designated locations within the local area, adhering to scheduled routes and delivery timelines. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT regulations. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and cargo documentation. Ensure cargo is secured properly during transit to prevent damage or accidents. Follow all traffic laws and company policies while maintaining a high standard of safety on the road. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules or issues. Experience Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record. Proven experience in truck driving , specifically with tractor-trailers or similar heavy-duty vehicles. Experience handling manual transmission trucks is preferred but not mandatory. Prior experience with route driving , load & unload , and working with various trailer types such as flatbeds , tankers , or dump trucks is highly desirable. Familiarity with operating equipment like forklifts for loading/unloading cargo is a plus. Delivery driver experience in local settings is preferred, demonstrating knowledge of efficient route planning and time management.
