Exeter, CA Job Details Temporary | Part-time | Full-time $20 - $35 an hour 3 hours ago Qualifications EPA Refrigeration Certification Driver's License Plumbing EPA 608 Technician Certification Hand tools Service technician experience Full Job Description Overview We are looking for an Experienced HVAC Installer to join our team in a temp-to-hire position, starting part-time with the potential to move into full-time employment based on workload, performance, reliability, and overall fit. This position is ideal for an experienced installer who is comfortable working on commercial and light commercial HVAC projects and can confidently complete installations with minimal supervision. Responsibilities may include installing package units, split systems, ductwork, copper refrigerant piping, drains, electrical connections, controls, and other related HVAC components. The right candidate should have strong hands-on installation experience, understand proper installation procedures, and be capable of handling tasks such as brazing with nitrogen, pressure testing, evacuation, charging systems, startup, and commissioning. We are looking for someone who is dependable, works efficiently, communicates well with the team, pays attention to details, and takes pride in completing clean, professional installations. This position will begin on a part-time / as-needed basis, with the opportunity to develop into a full-time permanent position for the right person as our workload continues to grow. Responsibilities Install, assemble, and set up commercial HVAC systems according to schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design specifications Troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment including refrigeration units, boilers, air conditioning systems, and mechanical systems Read and interpret schematics, electrical diagrams, and building automation system layouts to ensure precise installation and maintenance Perform electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters to identify issues within electrical systems Conduct routine maintenance on HVAC systems to optimize performance and extend equipment lifespan Diagnose mechanical problems related to HVAC/R (refrigeration) systems and execute effective repairs or replacements Utilize hand tools and mechanical knowledge to repair or replace components efficiently while adhering to safety standards Maintain detailed service records, reports, and logs of all work performed for accountability and future reference Ensure compliance with EPA regulations related to refrigerants and environmental safety standards Provide exceptional customer service by explaining system issues clearly and offering solutions that meet client needs Qualifications Proven construction experience with a strong background in HVAC system installation, repair, and maintenance in commercial environments Service technician experience with hands-on work diagnosing and fixing HVAC/R equipment Familiarity with schematics, electrical diagnostics, building automation systems, and HVAC design principles Mechanical knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, boilers, refrigeration units, air conditioning units, and mechanical systems repair Ability to operate hand tools effectively and safely in various installation scenarios Experience troubleshooting equipment issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling (EPA 608 Certification) is required Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients Valid van driver's license or ability to operate company vehicle safely during job site visits Knowledge of HVAC system maintenance practices including routine inspections and preventative measures We are committed to fostering a vibrant work environment where skilled professionals can grow their careers.
