In this pivotal role, you will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of HVAC service projects, ensuring high-quality maintenance, repair, and installation services for commercial clients. Your leadership will drive operational excellence, foster customer satisfaction, and promote safety standards across all service activities. This role offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your technical expertise and management skills to deliver innovative HVAC solutions that enhance building comfort and efficiency. Duties Lead and manage a team of service technicians specializing in HVAC system repair, maintenance, and installation across commercial buildings. Oversee daily service operations, ensuring timely completion of projects while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Develop and implement service protocols utilizing schematics, HVAC design principles, and building automation systems to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical systems. Develop and maintain technician training programs for advancement of technicians to grow commercial HVAC knowledge and skills. Coordinate with clients to assess their HVAC needs, provide expert recommendations on system upgrades or repairs, and ensure exceptional customer service throughout the project lifecycle. Conduct site inspections to evaluate HVAC system performance, diagnose issues using electrical diagnostics tools such as ohmmeters, and oversee equipment troubleshooting efforts. Manage inventory of hand tools, electrical components, refrigerants, boilers, air conditioning units, and other mechanical systems repair parts to optimize operational efficiency. Ensure compliance with EPA regulations related to refrigerants and environmental safety standards during all service activities. Skills Extensive construction experience combined with a strong background in HVAC service technician roles. Proficiency in reading schematics, HVAC design documentation, plumbing layouts, and building automation systems. Deep knowledge of HVAC system repair, installation procedures, refrigeration cycles, boiler operation, air conditioning systems, and mechanical systems repair. Skilled in electrical diagnostics including troubleshooting electrical systems within HVAC/R (refrigeration) units using tools like ohmmeters. Ability to perform equipment troubleshooting on various mechanical systems with precision and efficiency. Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by hands-on experience with hand tools and equipment repair techniques. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; familiarity with electrical systems and HVAC/R codes is preferred. Experience working with building automation systems (BAS), electrical diagnostics tools, and maintenance procedures for HVAC equipment including boilers and air conditioning units. Valid CA driver's license for transportation between job sites; commitment to safety protocols at all times.
