CHILLER EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

We are looking for an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician with strong hands-on experience servicing and troubleshooting commercial chillers and chilled-water systems. Experience with large chiller plants, cooling towers, chilled-water pumps, hydronic systems, and fan-coil units (FCUs) is required. Hotel chiller experience is highly preferred. Job Summary Perform diagnostics, repairs, maintenance, and installations on commercial chillers and chilled-water HVAC systems, including associated pumps, cooling towers, controls, and fan-coil units (FCUs). The technician will also service a broad range of commercial HVAC/R equipment, including WSHPs, package units, split ACs, boilers, VRF/VRV (Mitsubishi, Daikin, Carrier, LG), and building controls. Ensure optimal system performance, safety, and compliance with local codes for commercial properties. Key Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and service commercial HVAC/R systems. Service and maintain commercial chillers, chilled-water pumps, cooling towers, valves, controls, and related equipment. Troubleshoot fan-coil units and chilled-water distribution systems. Perform equipment start-ups, preventative maintenance, repairs, and replacements. Diagnose electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, hydronic, and control issues. Replace components such as compressors, motors, pumps, fans, coils, valves, actuators, sensors, circuit boards, and other HVAC/R components. Work with BAS/BMS and equipment controls. Test system performance, identify potential failures, and recommend repairs or upgrades. Service additional commercial HVAC/R equipment, including WSHPs, package units, split systems, boilers, VRF/VRV systems, and refrigeration equipment. Maintain accurate service reports, equipment records, and parts usage. Communicate professionally with customers, building engineers, property managers, and hotel management. Provide estimates and clearly explain repair recommendations to customers. Follow EPA requirements, OSHA/safety procedures, manufacturer specifications, and applicable local codes. Maintain clean work areas and properly maintain company tools and equipment. Participate in overtime, emergency service, and on-call rotations as required. Required Qualifications 3+ years of commercial HVAC service experience Hands-on experience servicing and troubleshooting commercial chillers Strong electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, hydronic, and diagnostic skills Experience with chilled-water systems and related equipment Experience with cooling towers, pumps, FCUs, or BAS/BMS Hotel, high-rise, hospital, office building, or other large commercial building experience is preferred Ability to independently diagnose and repair complex HVAC/R systems Universal EPA Certification - Required Valid Driver's License - Required HVAC school graduate or equivalent field experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred Chiller manufacturer training or certification is a plus Physical & Work Requirements Ability to lift, push, and pull 50+ lbs. Ability to use hand and power tools, ladders, lifts, and other HVAC service equipment. Comfortable working on rooftops, mechanical rooms, chiller rooms, hotels, and other commercial environments. Ability to work evenings, weekends, overtime, and emergency/on-call shifts when required. Maintain safe work practices and comply with company and job-site safety requirements.
