Job Description
Job Overview Industrial Service Technician (with ammonia and freon industrial background) Kemper Refrigeration
- (primarily San Joaquin Valley)
Job Summary:
Kemper Refrigeration is a specialty industrial contracting company which is currently looking for a service technician based out of the San Joaquin Valley in central California to work in collaboration with Watsonville, CA office. This individual will perform maintenance and repairs on industrial systems for food processing plants. Specific duties will include performing the following:- Follow SOP's, pump down procedures to perform system pump-downs
- Follow all compliance and safety regulations, particularly as they pertain to lock out/tag out, line break procedures and all safety administration
- Be self-sufficient in meeting all field safety requirements and Plant GMP requirements
- Perform general maintenance to industrial systems, including addition and draining of oil at collection points, general maintenance of compressors
- Work with superheat and non-condensable calculations
- Work with compressor panel operations
- Clean heat exchanger coils
- Perform Annual and Semi-Annual Compressor inspections and conduct NH3 water testing
- Perform Industrial industrial repairs such as: shaft seal replacements, pump rebuilds, compressor and motor R&R
- Remove/install compressors safely
- Perform coupler alignments
- Perform sensor/NH3 calibrations
- Charge systems with refrigerant
- Collect vibration data from equipment
- Perform valve change-outs
- Perform a variety of trouble shooting functions and take initiative to reach out for assistance when necessary as it pertains to troubleshooting basical electrical, compressor panel systems, defrost systems, and auto-purgers
- Read and understand electrical drawings (basic)
- Read and understand P&ID's
- Assist plant personnel with system start ups
- Have working knowledge of anhydrous ammonia systems
- Recover refrigerants
Job Requirements:
- Must demonstrate a strong work ethic that is fully committed to providing dependable, efficient, accurate and safe service in a fast pace work environment
- Strong desire to learn and ability to receive and follow instructions
- Must have a clean driving record
- Dependability and flexibility a must
- Willingness to work overtime
- Have or working towards EPA certification
- Respirator fit testing and clean shaved
