Competitive salary About the role Magic Mechanical is a residential home services company in Orange County, launched in plumbing and now building our HVAC division. We are hiring a licensed C-20 contractor to serve two roles: qualifier (RME or RMO) for the C-20 classification on our contractor license, and founding HVAC technician who sets the standard every future hire in the division is trained against. This is a legitimate, full-time, hands-on position. We are not looking for a paper qualifier. You will be in the field running residential heating and cooling work while carrying license responsibility for a division built to grow around you, inside a company already operating with documented standards. What you will do Serve as qualifier for the company's C-20 classification (bona fide W2 employment, full-time schedule, in compliance with CSLB requirements) Run residential HVAC service, maintenance, and installation: split systems, furnaces, heat pumps, mini splits, ductwork, thermostats, IAQ Set and document field standards: workmanship, refrigerant handling, code compliance, job photos, and closeout quality that become company training material Build the HVAC division's diagnostic and installation procedures alongside our operations playbook Mentor technicians as the division grows, with a defined path to division lead What you bring Active California C-20 license in good standing, eligible to serve as qualifier (not currently qualifying another active license) 5+ years of residential HVAC service and installation experience EPA 608 Universal certification Clean driving record and ability to pass a background check Strong homeowner communication: comfortable explaining systems, options, and pricing in the home What we offer Competitive market salary Performance bonus tied to quality and customer satisfaction, not commission pressure Company vehicle, fuel card, phone, and tools allowance Medical benefits and paid time off Founding-technician role in a new division of a growing multi-trade company, with advancement and long-term upside for the person who builds it How we work Flat-rate pricing, no high-pressure sales quotas.
