Position Summary The Service Technician is responsible for performing HVAC service calls for equipment that is not working. Depending on experience and call volume, will be expected to give quotes to replace systems, (IE…furnaces, air conditioning systems, ETC). When call volume dictates, the Service Technician will be performing maintenance safety tune-up inspections on HVAC systems (furnaces, air conditioning systems, heat pump systems, package units, and mini-split systems), both as prepaid plans as well as new customers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Performing service calls on equipment that has issues, by doing troubleshooting on a variety of systems (unitary, mini-split, and package units) to identify the issue, then educating the customer what the issue is, then presenting the customer with three options to resolve the issue. These solutions could range from regular maintenance, to a replacement of a part, or ultimately replacing the whole system Performing maintenance safety tune-up inspections on HVAC systems (furnaces, air conditioning systems, heat pump systems, package units, and mini-split systems). These are in homes and light commercial locations in Sonoma & Marin counties Providing excellent customer services to introduce or continue the customers experience while dealing with our company and our core values Presenting and closing opportunities for the customer to sign-up or renew prepaid maintenance programs Strong understanding of how HVAC systems should optimally work Reading and interpreting equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service Diagnosing problems, replacing or repairing parts (recognize when a more experienced technician needs to be sent out to evaluate the job), testing and making adjustments to HVAC systems Identify plumbing issues and call in to the office to get one of our plumbers scheduled out to evaluate Identify electrical issues and call in to the office to get one of our electricians scheduled out to evaluate Educate and offer customer preventive repairs (IE... replace run capacitor with low reading before it fails) and upgrades (IE… IAQ upgrades) Complying with safety regulations and maintaining clean and orderly work areas.
