Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated HVAC Service Subcontractor to provide reliable, prompt, and professional 24/7 emergency response for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of mechanical and electrical HVAC equipment in various commercial and industrial settings. As a vital part of our emergency service team, you will deliver exceptional customer service while ensuring all systems operate efficiently and safely around the clock. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical expertise in a fast-paced environment that values proactive problem-solving and hands-on skills. Responsibilities Respond promptly to 24/7 emergency calls to diagnose and resolve HVAC system issues efficiently. Perform comprehensive repairs on HVAC systems, including refrigeration units, boilers, air conditioning units, and mechanical systems. Utilize schematics, electrical diagnostics tools, ohmmeters, and welding equipment to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems. Conduct HVAC system installation, maintenance, and upgrades in accordance with industry standards and safety regulations. Diagnose issues related to plumbing, building automation systems, electrical systems, and ammonia refrigeration when necessary. Communicate clearly with clients about repair procedures, system status, and preventative maintenance recommendations. Maintain detailed service reports, logs of emergency interventions, and equipment repair records for accountability and future reference. Skills Proven experience in construction or property maintenance with a focus on HVAC/R systems. Strong service technician background with expertise in HVAC system repair, installation, and maintenance. Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and building automation system diagrams. Mechanical knowledge of HVAC design principles, refrigeration cycles, boiler operation, and electrical diagnostics. Skilled in the use of hand tools, ohmmeters, welding equipment, and other field service tools. Experience troubleshooting electrical systems using diagnostic devices such as ohmmeters or multimeters. Knowledge of EPA regulations related to refrigerants and refrigerant recovery procedures. Excellent customer service skills with a professional approach during high-pressure emergency situations. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; familiarity with driver requirements preferred. Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as part of the 24/7 emergency response team.
