Commercial HVAC Service Technician Location:
Loveland, CO Job Type:
Full-Time Kuck Mechanical Contractors is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, hands-on experience with a variety of commercial HVAC/R systems, and the ability to work independently while providing quality service to our customers. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, pays attention to the details, and wants to continue developing their technical skills and career. Responsibilities As a Commercial HVAC Service Technician, you will be responsible for: Diagnosing, troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing commercial HVAC/R equipment. Performing preventative maintenance and cleaning of heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment. Performing start-up and commissioning of newly installed HVAC equipment and systems. Installing soft ACR and hard ACR copper refrigerant piping using proper nitrogen purging and brazing techniques. Performing low-voltage wiring, controls wiring, final tie-ins, and terminations. Starting up, troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing equipment including: Rooftop units (RTUs) Make-up air units (MAUs) Air handling units (AHUs) Exhaust fans Energy recovery ventilators (ERVs) Unit heaters Variable air volume terminals (VAVs) Zone dampers Furnaces Fan coil units Condensers Pumps and hydronic systems Variable frequency drives (VFDs) Boilers and chillers Refrigeration equipment, including walk-in coolers and freezers Reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, sequence of operations, engineering documents, and operations and maintenance manuals. Accurately completing company documentation and manufacturer-required installation, service, and start-up paperwork. Participating in the company's rotating on-call schedule for emergency service.
Qualifications Required:
Valid Colorado driver's license with an acceptable driving record. No DUI or driver's license suspension within the previous five (5) years. EPA Universal Certification. Strong understanding of HVAC electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and control systems. Ability to use and interpret HVAC diagnostic and service equipment, including: Electrical meters Manometers Vacuum gauges Combustion analyzers Refrigerant recovery machines Vacuum pumps Other industry-standard diagnostic tools Ability to work independently, troubleshoot problems, and determine appropriate repairs. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to accurately and thoroughly complete required service and start-up documentation.
Preferred:
3-5 years of HVAC service and/or installation experience. Commercial HVAC service experience. Experience with boilers and chillers. Experience with hydronic systems, pumps, VFDs, and building controls. Commercial refrigeration or kitchen equipment experience, including walk-in coolers and freezers.
